This pocket Colt has a serial number of 3325 that matches throughout including the wedge pin. The octagonal barrel is 4.00 inches long and retains approx. 30% of the original bluing scattered over its surface. The barrel has a strong stamp on the top close to the breech that reads “ADDRESS COL: COLT / LONDON.” This marking is in two lines between brackets. The bore has good rifling and is in nice condition. The loading lever operates properly and still retains a lot of the case colors. There are small dings around the head of the wedge pin as well as a crown over “V’ mark and a crown over a what looks like a double faced “P.”
The five shot cylinder has approx. 100% of the cylinder scene and it is strong. Small amounts of bluing remain. All five nipples are present and are the originals. Stops show light to moderate wear. In this area each cylinder is stamped with a crown over a “V.” Cylinder spins locks at half-cock and is tight at full-cock. Action can be sloppy.
The frame and hammer are in nice shape and still show some coloring. The center left side of the frame is strongly marked “COLT’S PATENT.” Triggerguard and grip frame still retain approx. 65% of the silver finish with some dark discolorations.
The walnut grips are free of major dings and dents and still show all of the varnish.
This is a good solid “LONDON” Colt pocket revolver with a pre-war date.
