Metal parts [which include butt lanyard ring] medium bright, with light scattered pitting & tarnish. Rifled bore dirty & moderately pitted. Walnut stock light worn with dings & light bruises appropriate to age and usage. Action tight but good. Fine front sight.

This Austrian Lorenz pistol is the first we’ve ever seen. And, it should be noted that loading ramrods were not built into these guns, as with American and British models, but were carried attached to a neck lanyard, which is here missing. Nonetheless, a unique and excellent companion piece to the 1854 Austrian Lorenz rifle musket.
