Produced by the Colt Firearms Company of Hartford, CT, this brass pocket bullet mold is in very good original condition and was. Mold was made to accommodate a .31 caliber pistol or revolver. The upper face of the mold device is stamped “COLTS / PATENT” above the sprue holes. Letters are easily visible on the brass face but the surface shows a number of dings, dents and impacts above the sprue holes. This brass accoutrement is complete and in excellent working order. When fully opened, the handles on the straight, twin-handled hinged mold measure out to a total of almost 9” long. Each 4 ¾” long handle exhibits the head portion that has two machined-out cutouts for a .31 caliber conical bullet and a .31 caliber round ball. Both cutout appears to be never used. All inside edges of the mold are still sharp and distinct. Device has no spur cutter. A very pleasing brass sheen covers the exterior and interior surface of the mold. Light dents, scratches and small spots of oxidation are visible on the exterior surface. This fine Colt’s Patent bullet mold would make an excellent addition to any .31 caliber Colt Pocket Revolver accoutrement display.
