Paper cartridge for the Enfield rifle. English-made cartridge containing .577 caliber bullet. Bullet end dipped in wax with regulation cut. Typical tape “band” at opposite end. Cartridge has had a very small opening glued down on “tail” end but is otherwise remains in very good overall condition.
Typical of English cartridges run through the blockade into southern ports during the Civil War. [jet][ph:L]
