Self-contained and primed copper cartridge. Flat-nosed lead bullet. These were centerfire cartridges where the primer was held internally, seated on an “anvil” in the base of the cartridge.
These were manufactured by Charles Fusnot and Company. The Perrin revolver and its unique cartridges were patented in England by William E. Newton for Messrs. Perrin and Delmas of Paris on October 5, 1859.
The Model 1859 Perrin revolver was a French designed, self-contained, cartridge revolver with a double action lock and a six-shot cylinder. [jet] [ph:jet]
