An adjustable powder measure about 6 1/8 inches overall with an attractive openwork key-like finial on the interior rod and an unusual, nickeled steel body that still shows largely bright. The thumbscrew, also steel, imitates the shape of the rod finial, without the cutouts.  It is tight and we have not tried to force it and draw down the rod but the rod is likely marked in some fashion to allow for different precise measurements of the powder charge, something impossible to do with the fixed capacity “finger chargers.”

This would make a nice addition to a collection of powder flasks and horns, or percussion or flintlock hunting and target rifles. [sr][ph:m]
