Iron scissor-type mold to cast a lead .44 caliber ball for the Winchester rifle. Single cavity mold with spout and a sprue cutter mounted on top of the mold blocks. Turned wood handles with brass end caps. This mold was apparently reconfigured for the .44 as the original stamp on handle was over stamped and replaced with “.44-40”. The side of the mold black is stamped “MANUFACTURED FOR THE / WINCHESTER ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.”
Condition is good and clean with much original blue. [jet][ph:L]
