10.35MM CARTRIDGE FOR THE 1856 SWISS FEDERAL RIFLE

$65.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1212-179

This cartridge is in very good condition; one very small crack. Measures 3.25” long. Lubricated over bullet with end tucked into the bullet cavity.

The Model 1856 Swiss rifle at the time of its acceptance was truly the best military rifle of its age. It fired a much smaller diameter and lighter bullet than any other military rifle. The bullet was pushed from the bore with a relatively high 60 grain charge of fine grade black powder resulting a 440 m/s muzzle velocity and a flat trajectory.
