This is a box of 10 modern shooting cartridges made by C. W. Cartridge Co., Wood Ridge, New Jersey. These were advertised as a new product in 1978.
The cartridge body is made of nitrated paper rolled with a 355 grain Buffalo Slug (hollow base, flat nose). Empty tube with no powder included. “Nitrated Paper Cartridges with Lubricated Projectiles Prepared for Sharps Percussion Firearms.”
I guess these were for those that went hunting during black powder season with their Sharps rifles. [jet] [ph:L]
