Excellent flat top cartridge for the .44 Henry and M1866 Winchester rifles or the Colt, Remington, and Smith & Wesson revolvers. This particular cartridge was manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. One groove bullet, copper case with headstamp of a raised "H" within a small recessed circle.
The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was in New Haven, CT. Incorporated in 1866.
