Excellent cartridge for the .44 Henry and M1866 Winchester rifles or the Colt, Remington, and Smith & Wesson revolvers. This particular cartridge was manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company. One groove bullet, copper case with headstamp of an impressed "U" within a slightly recessed circle.
The Union Metallic Cartridge Company was in Bridgeport, CT. Incorporated in 1867.
