Dating from the 18th or early 19th century. Hilt is 6 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches at its base. The form is that of a horse. Carved into this figure are floral designs on both sides. One ear is chipped.  Excellent curved 9-inch blade is watered Damascus. Fine silver foliated inlays both sides that runs from the hilt for 2 1/2 inches. The excellent condition scabbard has a royal blue velvet covering over a wooden core. A heavy and beautiful edged weapon made for someone important. [PE]  [PH:L]
