Typical cannon ball for Civil War smoothbore artillery pieces. This has a good Bormann time fuse in place. Fuse shows a few scattered spots of corrosion, but still clearly exhibits many of the timing marks.  Iron surface is solid and just slightly crusty in spots. Traces of the tin straps remain.

Recovered from the river at Selma Arsenal. Unloaded and safe.     [jet]  [ph:L]
