Paper and brass foil cartridge for Maynard carbine. Features the flat nosed bullet at top and the large brass disc soldered to the bottom.
This is the paper and foil cartridges manufactured under Poultney’s patent. The patent (#40,988 dated December 15, 1863) was originally granted to Thomas Rodman and Silas Crispin who assigned it to Thomas Poultney. The cases were made of brass foil and paper instead of draw brass. In perfect condition. [JET]
