This is the iron swivel and snap hook that was on the carbine shoulder belt. They attached to all carbines via a sliding ring found on the left side of all military carbines. Overall length is 8 ½” long. In very nice, condition with scattered spots of tarnish throughout.
Maker marked, “O.B. NORTH & CO. / NEW HAVEN – CT”.
This is a nice example of an item every cavalry trooper used. [ld][ph:L]
