This is a very nice lock for Enfield or Snider-Enfield rifle. Lock plate is marked with large crown and “V.R” behind the hammer. Stamped “1860 / TOWER” in front of the hammer along with other small crown/arrow/number marks. Many internal parts also show inspection stamps. The sear spring and its small screw are the only missing parts.
Original Enfield hammer shows nipple and/or Snider firing pin wear in socket. Light bluing remains and piece is in fine condition overall. [jet][ph:L]
