Overall length is approx. 28.75 inches. The blade meas. approx. 23.50 inches long with a slight curve and 1.25 inches wide at the ricasso. The fuller begins approx. 1.50 inches from the point and runs along the back of the blade all the way to the counterguard. The blade has no markings and no false edge to speak of. The blade is semi bright and is in good shape with no pitting. The edge has several small nicks. The grip is an almost rectangular piece of wood with numerous carved ribs. There is no wire wrap and there never was any. The finished wood surface of the grip shows wear. The bottom of the grip has a 3 ribbed iron ferrule and an iron backstrap leading into an integral pommel cap with capstan rivet. The iron knucklebow and counterguard is all one piece. The knucklebow extends out from the pommel cap and then curves gracefully and continues down to a 90-degree turn to form the counterguard. Two arms branch off the knucklebow that are reminiscent of the Model 1860 cavalry saber. All the iron surfaces are dark. There is no scabbard.
