Sword is minus scabbard. Brass grip, counterguard and knucklebow are in good shape. Knucklebow is stamped with inspector’s stamp “F.S.S.” Blade is dark and has light to moderate pitting throughout. Ricasso is stamped on one side “U.S. 1863 F.S.S.” while the opposite side has a hard to read maker’s mark. Can see only one knick in the blade that would be considered moderate otherwise the edge is fine.
