Rolled photograph measures approximately 58” wide x 6 ½” tall. Titled, “Peace Re-union Camp of the Blue and the Gray / 50th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg / Gettysburg, PA, July 1st to 4th, 1913 / Photo No. 1.” The photographer’s imprint is in lower right area of the image, “Losey photographer, 539 N. Meridian St. Indianapolis, Indiana.”
Photo shows huge tent cities set up on the ground of Pickett’s Charge. Hundreds of tents. View from Cemetery Ridge looking west toward Seminary Ridge. Cook tents, wash tents also visible. Train runs through center. Virginia Memorial visible at edge of distant tree line. Emmitsburg Road runs in foreground. College buildings, the Court House and lots of additional interesting details.
Clarity and contrast good. Condition is good overall with a water stain in the sky area at center, a few scratches, and one small (1/2”) piece missing along top edge. [jet] [PH:L]
