Sword measures 32 ½”, blade measures 29”. Blade has an etched panel 7 ½” with leaf /scroll design with “U.S.M.C.” in center. This appears on only one side of the blade. The same side is etched “HORSTMANN / PHILA” near the ricasso. The cast brass hilt is tight with standard features of simulated wire-wrapped grip, turned down and counter guard. There is a small hole on the counterguard that appears to have been purposely drilled. The Marine may have had something attached. There is no scabbard. Nice for the Marine Corps Collector. [ss]
