This is a Confederate short sword devoid of any markings. It has a crudely cast brass guard and grip, the latter having parallel groves. The pommel is bare of decorations. It has some circular decoration on the quillon. The blade is 18 ¼ inches in length and is double-edged. It is 1 5/8 inches wide and tapers to a point. The tip has been slightly rounded. It has a brown patina look with some minor signs of pitting.
