Crisp maker-mark [obverse]: “W.H. Horstman/ & Sons/ Phila[delphia]”, with generic Prussian crown. Sword blade has been cut down & converted into a highly attractive side-knife, 7.5” in length, with brass cross-guard 1.5” in width. Blade is bright [& sharp]. Original leather grip exhibits with light wear & minor chipping, with tight brass-wire wrap. Light coppery cross-guard & pommel. Overall VG plus. Highly unusual piece. Superb fighting knife. Fine collectible.
