US MARINE CORPS M16 / M4 OKC-3S BAYONET AND SCABBARD

$150.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1037-380

Developed to replace the M7 and M9 bayonet for the M16 and M4, the OKC-3S was issued starting in early 2003 and is made only by the Ontario Knife Company. It functions as bayonet, fighting knife, and utility knife. Designed with an unfullered blade and sharp point, it is able to penetrate armored vests and has a serrated section on the bottom edge for use as a utility knife. The oval grip is a synthetic material and grooved. The grip has an embossed eagle, globe and anchor device that serves the practical purpose of enabling the user to determine blade direction in the dark. The blade has a non-reflective phosphate finish. The scabbard and hilt are USMC “coyote tan,” which is designed for woodland and desert camouflage.

This one is in excellent condition with just a few small scuffs to the grip. It bears Ontario Knife Company and model designation on the blade ricasso, as well as a “COMBAT” stamp on the other side, and patent information at the top of the grip near the guard. The straps and fasteners for attachment of the scabbard to the “Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment” system is in place. This represents the current peak of development for U.S. bayonet design for the US Marine Corps.   [sr]
