An exceptional example of a Model 1933 Sturmabteilung (SA) dagger by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen!  Carl Eickhorn was one of the premier manufacturers of German dress daggers during the NSDAP period, making this a much sought-after maker for collectors. This SA (“Brown Shirts”) dagger also boasts the uncommon feature of having dual maker’s marks: the blade bears both the squirrel logo of Carl Eickhorn and also the RZM M7/66 logo for Eickhorn.  The NSDAP Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM), based in Munich, officially approved all party-related merchandise sold by private contractors.  The dagger is in near mint condition and still retains its original leather hanger.  The blade, dated 1938, has original cross graining still visible – meaning the blade has not been over-cleaned through the decades since it was made!  If this dagger did not have a few minor scratches in the brown paint of the scabbard, it would rate as mint. The remainder of the dagger – especially the wooden grip – remains in absolutely superb condition.  SA daggers with uncommon dual maker marks rarely come on the market in this condition.  This dagger, made in 1938, well represents the power posed by Hitler and his dreaded regime on the eve of world calamity!   [sk]
