Maker mark (ricasso): “S.C. Wragg/ Sheaf Island/Works/ Sheffield”. 13” inch overall length, w/ 8.25” clipped point blade, measuring 1.125” in width at bass. Silver ball tipped cross-guard, 3” in length: black crenulated horn handle, punctuated w/ seven rows of vertical silver dots, w/silver capped pommel. Bright medium gray blade exhibits a film of light condensation pitting along entire length. Bone and silver hilt near flawless. Pristine leather washer. The brown leather sheath is 12.25” in length, has rear seam, an upper belt loop and is doubly reinforced at tip and throat. Snap fastener at top is broken. While solid throughout, the sheath exhibits patches of dark soiling and light wrinkling at tip, and upper belt loop. Overall VG and highly attractive. Solid ding-free blade, magnificent handle. Definitely a collectible. [JP]
