Maker marked on the ricasso, “G. WOODHEAD/ SHEFFIELD/ WARRANTED”. Measures 10 1/8” total length, blade measures 5 ¼” long. Knife has a spear-shaped single-edged blade with a gold gilt scrollwork design surrounding the motto, “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE”. Blade has slight spotting/mottling. Edge has a couple of very tiny nicks.
Ivory handle has a surface crack on each side and minor scratches. Features decorative silver pommel and guard.
Brown leather scabbard has a border of gold gilt and brass throat. Leather has light crazing and scuffs. Scabbard has split at the tip. [sm]
