Dated 1914, “SA [Springfield Armory] / 38893”. Total length 17.25”, 12” blade w/5.25” knuckle notched birds-head wooden handle, w/leather lanyard hole. Blade measures 1.375” at base, 2.5” at widest point near rounded tip. Brass “S” shaped cross-guard, 4.25” in width. Sharpened single-edged blade exhibits medium gray patina, w/light dings along flat edge near tip. Triple, brass-riveted handle displays minor dings. Else VG, w/crisp markings.
Brown Leather sheath assembly measures 17.25” in length, featuring brass throat attachments and flexible metal belt loop, w/lower hole for leather leg attachment. Reverse leather inspection markings: “Rock Island/ Arsenal/ 1011/ H.E.K.” Leather exhibits light wear and scuffing . Else VG and solid.
