Bayonet and scabbard are mismatched. Bayonet is #1733 while the scabbard is #4399. The blade bright and meas. approx. 22.00 inches long. The true edge has 3 or 4 good-sized nicks. There is some residue from oil preservatives mixing with dirt in the scabbard but this can easily be cleaned. The brass handle has a slightly dark appearance while the iron counterguard has some light rust and pitting. Locking mechanism is stiff but it works. Scabbard has a nice dark patina with light scattered pitting throughout. Blade is maker marked at ricasso with the letter “F” in a circle.
