This accouterment is an original Civil War socket bayonet with its leather scabbard. Total length of the bayonet is 21” long while the blade itself is 17½” long. This M1855 socket bayonet was issued to fit the US Percussion Model 1855 Rifle, and also fit the M1861 and M1863 rifled-muskets.
