This British-made accoutrement is an original socket bayonet made for the Enfield rifle. Bayonet measures nearly 21” overall. This specimen features a smooth, clean surface. Blade has a semi-bright surface overall with just a sprinkling of darker spots. Socket portion retains its blued finish. Original, working locking ring and screw. Several small stamps on the flat, one set being a crown over B over 39.
Scabbard is also in overall very good condition. Black leather scabbard is complete with brass tip and throat. Leather is strong and seam stitching is tight and unbroken. Surface finish is clean and smooth.
