The drawn bayonet meas. approx. 28.25 inches long from point to pommel. The bright blade meas. 23.00 inches with a 15.00 inch unstopped central fuller. One side of the ricasso bears the Austrian crest and the letters “GF” while the opposite side is marked “OHLIGS UND SOHNE.” Blade surface is clean and shows only some minor rub marks. True edge is free of nicks.
Grip is covered in crosshatched leather which is held by four rivets. Bird head pommel is iron while the locking mechanism works but is a bit stiff. Iron guard has a barrel ring topped by a finial while the opposite end has a curled quillon which is marked with “14. Z.” over “263.”
Black scabbard is undented and is complete with the throat and frog stud. Scabbard surface shows moderate wear and minor to light wear. [ad] [ph:L]
