RARE CONFEDERATE "RAKING" SPUR

$425.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1184-156

This type of Confederate cavalry spur is one of the rarest and this specimen remains in very good condition. This style is called a raking rowel spur as the spins "sideways". Here about half of the iron rowel remains.

The brass has a nice green patina. Instead of the usual strap slots at the ends of the arms, this spur utilizes raised "buttons". The straight neck has a round profile. There are no bends or cracks, a very nice example.

Recovered near Orange, Virginia.  [jet] [PH:L]
