CDV is a three-quarter seated view of an officer wearing a double-breasted frockcoat with the single star of a Confederate major on his collar. His cuffs are piped with a single line of piping as found on an enlisted man’s frockcoat and not with the usual galloons.

Standing beside him and resting an arm on his shoulder is woman dressed in a light colored bodice and skirt. The bodice has dark piping along the bottom edge and dark buttons down the front. She also has some piping on her upper sleeves.

Contrast and clarity are good. Mount and paper have light surface dirt and mount corners are clipped.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for KIMBERLY D. ROSS… NORFOLK, VA. Bottom has an orange 2 cent tax stamp dating the image between 1864-1866. There is also some collector information in pencil.
