Framed in old gold, 13.75” x 8.25, w paper backing and hang-wire. The CDV, 2” x 3, and cut signature, 4.5” x 1.625—“J. B. Gordon /Atlanta”—double matted in gray. Cut signature exhibits small stain along upper margin. Else VG plus.
General Gordon, one of Robert E. Lee’s most trusted commanders, was detailed to conduct the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia at Appomattox, VA. He later served two terms as Georgia U.S. Senator, and one as Governor.
