Standard issue Model 1858 forage cap in excellent condition.

The blue wool exterior has only a single small moth bite on the right side and only some minor surface dirt from age and storage. The exterior presents a pleasing appearance and will display very well.

Black leather visor is tightly attached and shows some light surface crazing. Leather chinstrap is present just above visor and is complete with brass slider and eagle “I” side buttons. One of the chinstrap’s small leather keepers is split but present.

Interior has a complete and proper wide sweatband that shows minor wear from use. The brown polished cotton lining is free of any damage and is 100% present. In the crown is a not often seen maker's tag that reads "M. & G. / No. 6. / N.Y."  [ad] [ph:L]
