The blade meas. approx. 16.00 inches long with a 12.50 inch unstopped fuller. Blade surface is bright with light scattered mottling. True edge is free of nicks. One side of the ricasso is marked with “S. A.” over a bursting bomb and “1908” while the opposite ricasso has “US” over “287154.” All markings are strong. Hilt has a good wood grip with an iron toe and guard with “O” ring that has browned with age.
Scabbard is covered in khaki canvas with a brown leather tip. Bayonet fits the scabbard perfectly and locks in place. Canvas has some light surface dirt but is otherwise in very nice condition. Leather tip shows light wear. Top back of scabbard has two iron hooks for attaching to the web belt. [ad] [ph:L]
