Bayonet measures approximately 20 ¾” overall with a 16” blade and a 4” socket. Iron is a pewter gray color mixed with light brown. Light surface rust and pitting. No marks on the blade. The East India Company “chop” is engraved on top of the socket. Heavy construction, good condition.
Accompanying scabbard fits the bayonet well. Leather shows moderate to heavy wear but stitching remains tight and unbroken. Scabbard tip and throat are brass and also show wear. A nice bayonet and scabbard pair. [jet]
