HALL RIFLE BAYONET

$425.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 172-4171

This is an example of the rare socket bayonet for the Hall rifle. Robert Reilly in “American Socket Bayonets and Scabbards” suggests this may be for the Model 1841 rifle.

The bayonet has a semi-bright patina with scattered darker spots. The blade is unmarked. The overall length is approximately 18 ¾” long. The bayonet socket has an extra slot through the bridge. There is an 8” gutter on the top face of the blade while the gutters on the two bottom faces continue all the way through the elbow.  A nice Hall Rifle bayonet; one of only about 24,000 manufactured at Harpers Ferry.  [jet]
