This bayonet and scabbard is in overall good condition.
The blade is semi-bright with minor amounts of mottling. The blade meas. approx. 17.00 inches long with a single fuller that starts just above the ricasso and runs approx. 12.25 inches. The edge is in good condition with no visible nicks. The ricasso is blued and marked on one side with “1917” over “REMINGTON” in a circle. The opposite side has an eagle head above a number “15” next to a bursting bomb over a “U.S.” The iron guard is blued with an “O” ring for fitting over the rifle’s muzzle. The wooden grip is the usual with two screws and two horizontal notches and is in good condition.
The scabbard is made of leather and is a dark green color. It exhibits some light wear but is in otherwise excellent condition. The pronounced seam running down the back is strong. There is a brass tip and throat. Attached to the back of the throat are the hooks for attaching to the Mills web belt. [ad]
