For use on the British Pattern 1853 .577 caliber three band Enfield Infantry Rifle. This rifle musket imported by both the North and South in the Civil War was the second most widely used infantry weapon in the war, surpassed only by the Model 1861 Springfield.

The bayonet with is French style locking ring has a triangular, tapered blade with fullers on each side. Carried in a brass mounted leather scabbard. Measures 20 ½”long overall with a 17” long blade and a 3” long socket. Socket with original original blue; no military marks on socket. Blade is semi-gray. The black leather scabbard has minor scuff marks.
