CDV is a Civil War period bust view lithograph of General Longstreet in uniform by the E. & H.T. Anthony Company. The lithograph is well executed. We had to inspect the image closely to determine that it was a lithograph and not a photo taken from life.
With the CDV is a 3.75 x 1.50 inch slip of paper very boldly signed in ink “YOURS TRULY JAMES LONGSTREET.” Ink has paled some but is still strong. Both pieces are triple matted in the same frame that meas. approx. 9.00 x 11.00 inches. Top mat is brown with a gold border. Upper left corner of the border has chipped some. Item is in excellent overall condition. Reverse of the frame has a letter of authenticity from the original seller.
