This is a folded invoice written in ink; readable except for understanding abbreviations. Paper slip measures 12.5" x 4.5".

First entry is dated 1768 regarding "Dobie & Frobisher" with a final date on third entry of July 18, 1769, also listing "Dobie & Frobisher". Signed at bottom "Moses Hazen".

Moses Hazen (June 1, 1733 – February 5, 1803). Hazen saw significant service during the Revolutionary War. Born in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, he saw action in the French and Indian War with Rogers' Rangers. During his lifetime he acquired land in Quebec, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York, but lost most of his Quebec land due to litigation and the negative effects of the Revolution. He raised a brigade and fought in most campaigns an on June 29, 1781, Hazen was finally promoted to brigadier general and assigned command of a brigade under Lafayette during the siege of Yorktown. Hazen's brigade served on the right of the line, and was deeply involved in the October 14 battles for the redoubts.

Richard Dobie was engaged in the fur trade around Quebec. In 1767 Dobie went into partnership with Benjamin Frobisher (Dobie & Frobisher as on the invoice).

Moses Hazen's signature clearly matches other signed documents found online. This document is from a man who played many significant rolls in America's colonial and Revolutionary War history.  [jet] [ph:L]
