Framed in magnificently ornamented and beveled wooden frame w/ivory painted outer rim, 20.5” x 15 - lithograph, 6.75” 4.5, cut signature (“Alex P Stewart / Lieut. Genl C.S. Army”)—1.75” x 3.5, doubled matted in pale blue and gold. W/ paper backing & hang-wire. Overall condition: mint.
General A.P. Stewart fought exclusively in the western theater, exercising brigade, division and corps command, and near the end commanded the remnants of the Army of Tennessee following their shattering defeat at the Battle of Nashville. Excellent CSA collectible. [jp] [ph:L]
