Magnificently framed in ornate antique gold, 18 x 15.5”. B/W engraving, 4” x 5.75, cut signature—“G.T. Beauregard / 1880”—4” x 2,125”, double matted in dark gray and white. Modern paper backing w/ hang-wire. Overall condition, absolute mint.
General Beauregard was a major Confederate figure, commanding southern troops at the firing on Ft. Sumter in April 1861, and taking charge at Shiloh at the death of Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston.
