Dated Saturday, July 20, 1861. 8 pp., measuring 20.5 x 15”. Brimming with news from  “THE SEAT OF WAR IN VIRGINIA”, this edition was published one day prior to the July 2lst Battle of Bull Run. Four separate, double-sided pages, exhibiting one center-horizontal fold-mark, and light chipping at the margins. Else VG plus, and brightly legible. 

Cover features an attractive  “Seat of War” map, measuring 7.5 x 13”,  “Showing the Positions of the Contending Forces in Eastern and Western Virginia, and the Columns advancing on Richmond.”. Below the front center fold are six columns sporting various headlines—“The Killed and the Wounded” [from the July 18th Skirmish at Centerville], General McDowell’s Army Encamped for the Night”,  “The Rebels Still in Possession of a Battery”, “Gen. Schenck to Intercept Johnston’s Retreat and Flank the Junction Batteries”, “Infamous Conduct of Rebels—The Wounded Bayonet”.
