Front cover features an illustration of angels surrounding a tablet scroll—“In memory of our Soldiers and Sailors who, on Land or at Sea, have fallen Martyrs, for Liberty and ‘Law / Peace be with them. Amen,” followed by four column poem.

Interior illustrations include treatment of the famous Samuel Colt Armory fire—“Colt’s Armory After the Fire—Exterior”—Colt’s Armory After the Fire—Interior.” Also a story and illustrations depicting hospital trains—“Hospital Train From Chattanooga to Nashville”—“The Interior of a Hospital Car.” Also an interesting double page centerpiece collage celebrating the life of George Washington—titled “Pictures From…Washington’s Birth Place, Feb. 22, 1732…The Life Of.” Center vignette: “Resigning his Commission.”

Exhibits archival tape of left cover margin, and chipping round the edges. Somewhat fragile. Else VG. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [jp][ph:L]
