This is a 1/9 plate ambrotype photograph mounted in a custom double mat in a larger 1/4 plate case. The case is in good condition with a period hinge repair.
On the interior, one side has pressed velvet lining and the other side an interestingly matted photo of a man seated next to a studio table. Image is under glass and features the typical copper “wrapped” frame and a gold and a white mat.
An interesting presentation. [jet] [ph:L]
