A blank ink silhouette of Mr. Lincoln is framed in an oval by small ink drawn hash marks on what looks like parchment paper. The wooden black and gilt frame measures approximately 4.75 inches by 3.75 inches and is just a bit more than .25 inches in depth.
The back has been backed in paper across which someone has written in ink “Lincoln in 1863,” and “Handmade by Nancy.” A black grosgrain ribbon is affixed to the frame which holds a black metal ring to hang this piece on the wall.
The frame is sturdy and intact with a few minor dings but these add to the charm of the piece. The back covering is intact as well with some minor loss to the upper righthand edge of the frame.
Sadly, we do not know who Nancy is or when she made and framed this piece but a lovely piece of Lincoln art none-the-less. [cla][ph:L]
