Very nicely done silhouette of Robert E. Lee done in 1934. The silhouette is housed in a circular wooden frame that meas. approx. 5.00 inches across. The General’s collar and uniform jacket are expertly drawn in and beneath is a facsimile of the General’s signature.
Frame has a paper lining on the reverse that is inscribed “BY MRS. JOHN ALDRIDGE / LYELLS, VA. 1934.”
Unfortunately, nothing is known about the artist but the item is a very attractive piece. [ad]
