Hand-colored, early Antietam print published by Currier & Ives. Shows Union and Confederate soldiers in combat. Labeled, “THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM, MD. SEPT. 17TH 1862” Print has yellowed with age, has light surface dirt and faint water stains.
Wood frame measures 12 ½” x 16 ¾”. Shows very minor scattered nicks and scratches. Wire is mounted on reverse for hanging. [sl]
